We used Gould & Swayne for selling/buying and cannot fault Hollie and Jackie for being so efficient and helpful. Considering this was during the peak of the covid busy period and having to wait for probate, we were kept in the loop at all times and had responses to any questions in a timely manner. I would 100% recommend Hollie and the team to anyone looking to sell/buy as they made the process easy and as stress free as possible.

As a single, first time buyer I was nervous and apprehensive towards buying my first house. I cannot fault my solicitor Hollie Burns. She was absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to make this experience very easy. Any questions or queries I had about any part of the process Hollie was able to answer them. I have since recommended her to many of my friends who have said exactly the same. If I need a solicitor again I know exactly who I’ll be going with. Thank you for everything Hollie!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Public are entitled to leave their reviews with Google when they have had a bad experience yet Gould and Swayne try and have them taken down I second the review left by Samantha Vining and the latest review by JE. These are honest reviews!!! We have been using Hollie Bailey and Gould and Swayne and would never advise anyone to ever use this company ever again !!! The stress that this company has caused is unbelievable.They charged us double what was quoted. They add things like Fee Pledge and other charges that other solicitors have never heard of. They charged us for an Insurance Policy that we never asked for. Be aware of this as they add it in and you dont know till you get the final bill. They try and keep any interest that is accrued on your money. The Land Registry admin fee and the Stamp Duty admin fee they charge £50 !! when the actual cost is £4.30.They have taken over 7 months to sort out a sale on a simple flat and their charges just alone are £2200!! without any other fees. This company have totally ruined what would have been a nice property and cost us thousands in the process with their greed and incompetence.We have now had to report to the Law Society and employ another solicitor to do all the work again. We will be suing this company. Do not use this company unless you want alot of stress, be told lies and lose alot of money. We will be making sure this information is put on every review site to warn others. This company are trying to take down reviews but this will not stop us exposing them. Anyone else notice that Hollie Bailey has actually left a 5 star review on her own company Google review !! This is fraud !!! Been photographed and reported. They chose the wrong people to rip off and mess around.

My daughter bought her first house using Gould and Swayne in Street following a recommendation from the estate agent. They (Hollie, Jackie, Jade and Grant) couldn't have been more helpful in assisting my daughter with her first purchase. She was especially nervous given the current circumstances! They worked so well as a team and were happy to deal with me and my daughter and answered any queries we had in a professional and caring manner. I would not hesitate to recommend them! We ended up using Gould & Swayne by default on our house mortgage, we used Barringtons in Burnham-on-Sea for our sale/purchase and were told by them it would be easier to use Gould and Swayne for our mortgage they were already on our mortgage providers panel and Barringtons were not, as they are their sister company it would be the quickest route. As it turns out this was most definitely not the case. Firstly our solicitor Kerrie Turner from Barringtons had to do all the leg work (for peanuts) as Hollie Bailey from G&S wouldn't communicate with us directly, ignoring our emails and Kerrie. It actually got to the point that Kerrie had to get her superior involved. I truly believe that because of this Hollie then made every thing as slow and unprofessional as possible. Only giving snippets of information at a time and dragging the whole process out so long that not only was our mortgage offer about to expire but our mental health was so exhausted we had decided to pull out of the purchase if the very reasonable deadline wasn't met (everything was ready to go ahead). I would never deal with her or Gould and Swayne again. I held my tongue for months just to get to the end of this miserable and unnecessary stressful experience so I could write this review and save someone some grey hairs!! I highly recommend Kerrie from Barringtons and her patience dealing with this nightmare.

We used Gould and Swayne for our house sale and new purchase over Christmas 2020. I cannot rate them high enough. Through the exceptional circumstances of lockdown, they were helpful, friendly, professional and always seemed to be one step ahead of the other solicitors in the chain. Every time I called them I spoke to someone in the team and would always get a call straight back from my specific handler as soon as they could. Hollie Bailey and Grant Elbourn were amazing, no question was stupid and were always happy to help. They explained in terms you could always understand and were never pushy if there were choices to make, just informative and gave guidance. They were not the cheapest quote, as you get what you pay for, but the final bill had no surprises and was still very reasonable! Would 100% recommend. They are local firm and we could go to our local branch in Paulton to drop of docs or have paperwork witnessed even though the solicitors dealing with the case were actually based from the Street office. A very smooth house move. 👍
